Case History:

7 year old male castrated Maltese; recent onset of lethargy and nystagmus (per rDVM)

Neurologic Examination:

  • Mentation: Dull
  • Cranial Nerves: Horizontal resting and positional nystagmus, left head turn, decreased to absent gag, otherwise cranial nerves intact
  • Gait: Non-ambulatory, but when supported falls to the left
  • Proprioceptive positioning: Delayed in left forelimb, unable to fully assess in remaining limbs
  • Reflexes: Within normal limits
  • M/S: Within normal limits
